Cancellation & Refund Policy

This page explains how cancellations, refunds, and reschedules are handled for the journeys we design. We recommend reading it alongside your itinerary confirmation.

Overview

Because every Traveldeeds journey is composed by hand and secured with local partners in advance, cancellations affect a network of hotels, guides, permits, and transport. Our policy is designed to be fair to both travelers and the local partners who hold space for us.

Cancellation Windows

The date we receive your written cancellation request determines the cancellation fee that applies. Our standard cancellation windows are:

  • More than 60 days before departure25% of the total journey cost
  • 31–60 days before departure50% of the total journey cost
  • 15–30 days before departure75% of the total journey cost
  • Less than 15 days before departure100% of the total journey cost

The cancellation fee is calculated from the full journey price, not from any partial payments already made. Any amount paid above the cancellation fee is refunded.

Refund Structure

Refunds are processed back to the original payment method. Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take 10–14 business days for the refund to reflect in your account.

Non-refundable components are clearly listed in your itinerary. These typically include permit fees already paid to government authorities, confirmed flight or helicopter tickets, and any deposits paid to properties with strict no-refund policies.

Rescheduling

You may request a reschedule once, subject to availability and supplier policies. Reschedules requested more than 30 days before departure may be moved to a new date within the same calendar year at no additional fee, beyond any difference in seasonal rates.

Reschedules requested within 30 days of departure are treated as cancellations and rebookings, and cancellation fees will apply. Rescheduled journeys must be taken within 12 months of the original departure date.

Exceptions & No-Show

In the event of force majeure — including natural disasters, government closures, strikes, epidemics, or severe weather that make travel unsafe — we will offer you a credit or reschedule option. Cash refunds may not be possible for costs already committed to local partners, but we will work to recover and pass on whatever we can.

No-shows or unused portions of the journey (for example, leaving the trip early) are not eligible for refunds. Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all journeys.
